KILL YOUR LOCAL PEDOPHILE
Gary Plauché was a father from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who became widely known after a highly publicized incident in 1984. His 11-year-old son, Jody Plauché, had been kidnapped and sexually abused by Jeff Doucet, a karate instructor whom the family had trusted.
Doucet took Jody from Louisiana to California, where he held him for more than a week. After Jody was located and rescued, the FBI arranged for Doucet to be flown back home to face charges.
When Doucet arrived at the Baton Rouge airport on March 16, 1984, reporters and cameras were waiting — and so was Gary Plauché. Gary was standing near a bank of public phones, wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, pretending not to notice the crowd. As Doucet was escorted past him in handcuffs, Gary turned, drew a concealed handgun, and shot Doucet in the head at point-blank range. The entire event was caught on live TV news cameras
The case became famous because of the circumstances: a grieving, furious father killing the man who abused his son, on live television. Public opinion at the time was extremely sympathetic toward Gary, and he became something of a controversial figure.
Legally, Gary was charged with manslaughter, but the judge gave him a very lenient sentence:
- 5 years probation
- 300 hours of community service
- No jail time
Shoutout to Gary Plauché.
